While Estonia is unlikely to attract many ex-pat buyers, it will remain a popular weekend holiday destination, a property expert has claimed.
Overseas property editor for BuyAssociation Paul Collins said that the cold and dark winters experienced by the Baltic state were unlikely to attract too many ex-pats.
However, investors could consider buying property in Estonia's 'summer capital' Parnu if they don't want to buy in Tallinn, Mr Collins advised.
The spa resort has two golf courses already, is popular with native Estonians and has property prices that are around 30 per cent cheaper than Tallinn, he said.
Mr Collins said that despite fears that there is little room for capital growth remaining in the market, Estonia's strong economic performance had increased foreign investors' confidence in the market.
"You are unlikely to find an expert who will expect this rate to slow down this year," he commented.
"A number of other studies have also put Estonia at the top of the league tables for price growth in the past year, although it would be wise to plan for a slightly slower rate of growth for 2007."
